Mobil 1, Delvac & Super, oh my!

When I was an associate creative director and lead designer on the Mobil motor oil business at Match Marketing Group, we were the agency on record for mass-market retailers, most notably Walmart. I also managed the OEM creative work for Mobil and major car manufacturers. My focus was on the entire retail experience, physical and digital. This consisted of designing, concepting and producing web content, in-store marketing material, digital media, print advertising, point-of-sale material, direct mail, glovebox brochures and more.

Over my career I have been lucky enough to work on a lot of custom posters. It has been a lot of fun and is one of the things I like to do most. It has allowed me to blur the line between design and art.

They were placed in the gloveboxes of cars that came off the factory line equipped Mobil 1. Pairing clean design and unique printing & folding techniques these brochures reinforced performance and quality. The Bentley example used soft touch and premium paper to help put it over the top.

This example of an OEM glovebox brochure was done for Mercedes-Benz and used a unique printing technique of three shades of reflective silver ink and black to make a highly attractive and premium look to reinforce the relationship between Mobil 1 and Mercedes-Benz.
